The functionality of internal messaging will appear in the next version of TargetProcess (it is already implemented in fact :). The message board was designed to resolve some communication issues in distributed teams.

Messages List View Message The messages will be sent to users assigned to bugs, user stories and other assignable entities automatically in the following cases:

• Adding the comment
• Adding the attachment
• Changing the state
• Adding the assignment
• Deleting the assignment

In other words you will get an internal email about adding something new to user story or bug assigned to you. Also you will be notified if somebody removes your assignment from user story. The possibility of sending messages with attachments to users presents as well: It is supposed that message board will help to avoid miscommunication and losing information about just added comments and attachments.
